Zoe-perry

Perry was born in Chicago to two actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. On the ABC sitcom Roseanne (in flashback) Her mother portrayed Jackie Harris in two of Perry's early TV appearances. However, her parents did not permit her to perform until she became an adult because of the effects stress would have on their daughter. Perry was shy in high-school and wasn't a good actor. She started acting in the year 2000 at Northwestern University to gain friends after she was transferred to the university from Boston University. Perry started her acting career in New York after graduation, landing minor roles on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But homesickness made Perry go back to California to pursue work as an actress in the theater. She appeared on Broadway on Broadway in The Other Place with her mother in 2013. She performed with her father Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in the year 2015 on the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry was in nine episodes of the ABC thriller The Family in 2016. She was also a regular actor as a character on ABC politics drama Scandal with her dad. She was also cast in The CBS show The Big Bang Theory spin-off Young Sheldon as a version younger than Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. It was her first character despite her connections to the character's family.
